Gionee is gearing up to organize an event and already started sending out the media invites for the same. It is scheduled on August 22. The invite has a hashtag “#SelfieWithFlash” which gives a clear indication about the launch of company’s first selfie-centric smartphone in India. Selfie-centric smartphone comes with flash for front facing camera, that’s why we call it ‘selfie-centric phone’.
Company is expected to launch S-series smartphone in India. Few smartphone companies like Oppo and CoolPad have already launched selfie-centric smartphones in India and it seems that Gionee is followinng the same pathway.
Gionee has recently launched M6 and M6 Plus smartphones officially in China. But these smartphones are not selfie-focused devices while they do come with software beautification features. Both smartphones powered by dedicated encryption chips and big battery. The data encryption feature was limited to the Chinese variant and not available on global models.
