The end of 2016 is very near but it doesn’t mean that mobile manufacturers don’t have anything to release in last days. Chinese manufacturer Huawei is all set to release two new high-end smartphones on November 3rd, 2016 dubbed as Huawei Mate 9 and Huawei Mate 9 Pro. There are many confirmed rumors details are available online. Here are few things to know ahead of the release of these flagship smartphones.
An incredible camera:
Both devices have an incredible camera. All latest high-end smartphones are featuring a dual-lens camera, but it seems Huawei Mate 9 may be going one step further. Apparently, Huawei Mate 9 is getting a megapixel boost to feature a 20MP front-facing camera and a 12MP rear-facing camera. If you notice, this will be an upgrade from 8MP front-facing camera used in other Huawei smartphone (e.g. Huawei P9). Another big rumour is that both models of the Huawei Mate 9 will feature a 4x optical zoom, which goes above the 2x zoom included in the new iPhone 7 Plus.
Evan Blass also posted on Twitter-
Snap (no pun intended): Mate 9/Pro feature 4x optical zoom. But pricing on a spec’ed out Pro is enough to give you a heart attack: $1300.

Powered by new Kirin 960 processor:
The company has already sent out a tweet that both smartphones will be powered by new Kirin 960 processor which will give you 18% increased CPU performance in comparison to Kirin 950 processor.
— Huawei Mobile (@HuaweiMobile) October 26, 2016
The new octa-core Kirin 960 processor comes equipped with the latest Cortex-A73 CPU cores and a Mali-G71 MP8 GPU from ARM. It was launched a few weeks ago by Huawei’s HiSilicon company. In the above video, the company is giving a much clear indication that the new flagships will be launched with notable performance upgrade with this new chip. If we talk about the GPU performance it will increase 180 percent for GPU performance compared with the Kirin 950, and twice the data transfer speeds thanks to the chip’s upgrade to UFS 2.1 flash storage over eMMC 5.1.
Apparently, Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro are more or less going to have the same specs save for the display. It may come with a 5.9 inch full HD flat display , like the Samsung Galaxy edge range, while the Mate 9 Pro might feature a 5.9-inch dual edge curved Quad HD resolution display.
RAM & Internal Storage:
Reportedly, Huawei’s upcoming flagship is believed to be coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. If any device has 256GB internal storage, I think it’s enough for all intents and purposes.
Different color options:
It could come in nine different color options. Normally all manufacturers release their devices in two or three different color options. Apparently, Huawei Mate 9 will be available in nine separate color options.
- Amber Gold
- Amber Gray
- Ceramic White
- Champagne Gold
- Mocha Gold
- Pink Gold
- Shiny Black
- Sky gray
Expected price tag:
Huawei will confirm how much the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro are going to cost but according to a recent report, the top-of-the-line version of the Mate 9 Pro might cost $1,300.
