Nokia 5 with 5.2-inch HD display, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, 3,000mAh battery announced at MWC 2017

Nokia brand is returning big at MWC 2017 with the announcements of Nokia 5, Nokia 3, Nokia 6 for the global markets and the iconic Nokia 3310. The Nokia 5 is a mid-range smartphone promising balanced for work and play. It comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box, sports seamless aluminum unibody design, and features a fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button and also has a NFC chip built in. Nokia 5 will be available as both single SIM and dual-SIM variants depending on the market.

The Nokia 5 features a 5.2-inch (720×1280 pixels) IPS LCD display and comes with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass cover on top. It promises great visibility with 500nits of brightness and Nokia’s trademark polarizer that cuts down reflections. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM It comes with 16GB of internal storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB).

On the Camera specifications, Nokia 5 has a a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, dual tone flash and an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and comes with 84-degress field of view lens. The Nokia 5 along with the all Android Nokias will get free Google Drive storage to keep their photos. Nokia 5 packs a 3000mAh non-removable battery. The phone comes in four color options – Tempered Blue, Silver, Matte Black, and Copper colors.

Price and Availability

The Nokia 5 is priced at 189 Euros (approx. US$ 200 , Rs. 13,300 INR). Nokia 5 along with all new Nokia phones is  set to launch in APAC, Middle East, Africa and Europe in Q2 2017. HMD Global has confirmed that the Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 6 smartphones will be making their way to the Indian market as well by Q2 2017.
