Sony releases list of Xperia devices getting Android 7.0 Nougat update

Yesterday Google has started rolling out the the Android 7.0 Nougat update to Nexus devices and some other supported devices. And a day after the Nougat update begins to roll out, Sony makes quick moves and publishes the list of Xperia devices it plans on updating to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.

Sony said in a blog post “We’ve been working hard to bring this major update to as many of our devices as possible, as quickly as we can. We’re really excited about the new Sony features & functionality and the improvements we’ve made to the user experience”

Here’s Sony’s list of devices for which Android 7.0, Nougat will be available: Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance.

As of now these are the the only Sony Xperia devices to receive Nougat update. So if you own any of the above device then your device will be updated to latest version of Android. Sony didn’t mention the exact timing about the availability of the update to these devices. Sony clears that the software rollouts are a phased process – timing and availability will vary by market and/or operator. Most models supported but some operator/market exceptions will apply.
