Sony revealed the Android Nougat schedule for Xperia devices; coming to Xperia XZ next month followed by others

Last month, Sony has released the list of Xperia devices getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update. In that release, Sony didn’t mention the time schedule for the OTA rollout for it’s devices. Now the company has revealed it’s plan about when its Xperia devices would receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The details came out from from a press conference held by Sony Slovakia earlier today. According to the report, the Sony Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ will be the first devices to receive the Android Nougat update in October 2016 followed by other eligible Xperia devices.

Here’s is the Sony’s Android Nougat schedule for it’s Xperia devices:

  • Xperia XZ & Xperia X Performance: First to receive official Xperia Android Nougat update around October 2016
  • Xperia X & Xperia X Compact: To get update in November 2016
  • Xperia Z5 series, Xperia Z3+ & Z4 tablet: Android N update around December 2016
  • Xperia XA & XA Ultra: Update in early 2017 (expected until March 2017)

All of the devices mentioned in the above list are the same as officially released by Sony as the eligible Xperia handsets to get the Android N update. We don’t see any new listing here, that means it is highly possible that Sony is not looking forward to update other Xperia devices to Android Nougat. If your device featured in the list, then you will receive the Nougat update according to the mentioned schedule.
