Sony has officially launched it’s latest flagship smartphone Xperia XZ in India. The Sony Xperia XZ was announced at the IFA 2016 in Berlin earlier this month, which is a successor to the Xperia X flagship. The Xperia XZ focuses on Sony’s new signature design, performance, camera, and battery life. It is made from high purity ALKALEIDO metal, adding depth, shine and brightness to the finish. It also comes with water resistance technology with IP65/IP68 ratings.
The main focused feature of Xperia XZ is it’s 23-megapixel rear camera with Predictive Hybrid Autofocus with Triple Image Sensing and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor. The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs inside a 2900mAh battery. It is also said that the Xperia XZ will be the first Xperia Device to receive Android Nougat update in the October this year along with Xperia XA Performance.
The model being launched in India will support dual-SIM functionality with a hybrid Dual SIM slot with support for 4G VoLTE on both SIMs. It comes with 64GB internal memory. It also has a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. The Sony Xperia XZ comes in Forest Blue, Mineral Black and Platinum color options.

The Sony Xperia XZ is priced at MRP of Rs. 51,990 for Indian markets and a best buy price of Rs. 49,990. The smartphone will go on sale starting October 10, with pre-bookings opening from October 1 at Amazon.in, and in retail stores across the country. As a pre-booking offer, those who pre-book the smartphone will get a free Sony SWR30 SmartBand worth Rs. 8,990. The handset also comes with Sony UCH12W quick charger bundled in the box and the Modern Combat 5 Gameloft credits worth Rs.780.
