Global roll out of Nougat update for the Honor 8 began last month, and units in the US started getting it last week. The company has started rolling out a new update to Honor 8 units in India. Till now this update was in Beta phase but now beta testing has come to an end. The new update brings Android Nougat (version 7.0) along with EMUI version 5.0. The version of this update is FRD-L02C675B310.
With Android Nougat update, users will be able to add an optional app drawer, customize their quick controls, and work in multiple windows simultaneously. One of the notable changes, it brings App Twin feature that allows users to log-in and use two different accounts at the same time on the same phone, however, the company says that the feature only works with Facebook and WhatsApp.
On the other hand, Android Nougat brings its own list of new features such as improved Google Keyboard, improved notification panel and ‘Recent Menu’ etc. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket.
