T-Mobile started pushing first software update for LG G6

T-Mobile was the first one to start shipping LG G6 among US carriers. Now T-Mobile has become the first to release a software update as well for LG G6. The company has started pushing an OTA update with software version H87210e for its LG G6 variants in the US.During the launch of LG G6, the software version was H87210b (March patch) but the device is getting the OTA update updated with version H87210e.  The OTA update weighs 124MB. The change catalog is still unknown but if you look at the size of OTA update, it should include some major improvements or fixes.

As is usually the case with OTA roll outs, it might take time for the update notification to pop up on your device’s screen. Meanwhile, if you feel impatient, you can manually check for the update.
Check the OTA update Notification on your handset:

In this method (OTA) you don’t need to download Firmware from anywhere. The OTA update will be installed automatically without any other requirements. You need only connect your smartphone to the Internet, so below are the simple steps-

  • Go to “Settings”.
  • Press “About device”.
  • Tap on “System updates”.
  • It will show information about your OTA update.
  • One downloaded, tap on the “Restart & Install” button for the update to get installed.
Things to keep in mind:
  • Get your LG G6 phone connected to a WiFi network.
  • Make sure that the battery is at least 50 percent charged.

The OTA update is rolling out gradually, it may take some time to reach your device.
