[How to] Delete Facebook search results from web & mobile app- Step by Step

In these days, everybody holds an account on World’s largest social media website- Facebook. You will also admit that we all have stalked someone on Facebook at least once in our lifetime. It can be a very embarrassing moment when you are close to someone and that someone doesn’t want to see your ex in your search results.

Hope you all are aware that Facebook stores search data and next time when you tap/click on search box, it will retrieve the last search data as well. So for those who want to avoid any awkward situation in near future, follow below steps-

For Website-

If you are using Web Facebook, please follow below steps-

  • On your Facebook profile page, search for ‘Activity Log’ or ‘View Activity Log’.

Note:  It should be next to your cover image on top right.

  • Click on ‘View Activity Log’. It will show your activities.
  • Look for ‘More’ option in left side panel. Click on it.

Note: It should be on the left side that falls right below the Photos, Likes and Comments sections.

  • There should be ‘Search’ tab in expanded list. Click on it.

  • On the same page you will see ‘Clear Searches’ option. Click on it.

It will permanently delete the results and you are good now.

For Mobile App-

If you are using Facebook App, please follow below steps-

  • Open your Facebook App and tap on ‘Search’.
  • Search history will be visible with an ‘Edit’ button’. Click on it.

  • ‘Activity Log’ will open as below with ‘Clear Searches’ option. Click on it.

  • It will ask – “Are you sure?”. And you need to click on ‘Confirm’.

It will permanently delete the results and you are good now.
