Galaxy Note7 is banned on all U.S. flights starting today

If you are in the USA and holding Samsung Galaxy Note 7, you won’t be able to fly with it. The United States Department of Transportation has issued an emergency order to ban all Note7 units from all flights in the US. You will not be able to carry Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on a flight within the US, or originating in the US, or going to the USA. Not it doesn’t matter, it turned on/off. Also, you cannot ship it as air cargo.The ban will become effective today, October 15, starting at noon ET.

Below is the relevant quote from the DOT’s press release-

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), today announced it is issuing an emergency order to ban all Samsung Galaxy Note7 smartphone devices from air transportation in the United States. Individuals who own or possess a Samsung Galaxy Note7 device may not transport the device on their person, in carry-on baggage, or in checked baggage on flights to, from, or within the United States. This prohibition includes all Samsung Galaxy Note7 devices. The phones also cannot be shipped as air cargo. The ban will be effective on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at noon ET.

As you all know that the device owners have experienced documented incidents of the dangerous evolution of heat with both recalled and replacement Samsung Galaxy Note7 devices. If you disregard the fine and try to carry Note 7,  it may be confiscated and you could face a fine for this.
