  • Step 3: Click Unsend to confirm.

Note: Yahoo still suggests to think before you share any messages, photos or GIFs. Because they are sent immediately and no one can guarantee the recipients won’t see the message before you unsend it (they may be online all the time).

There are some exceptions you should notice:

  • Notifications of new messages aren’t taken back. By checking their notifications anyone will know you sent something and removed it from the conversation. Also, they can read push notification snippets of unsent messages.
  • Unsend doesn’t work with someone who still using the previous version of Yahoo Messenger.
  • If someone receives a message or photo from you and goes offline before you unsend it, they’ll still be able to see the content until they go back online.
  • Your friends may be quicker than you and they could copy or save or take a screenshot of the content (including photos) before you unsend. So unsend as soon as you can if you want to.
