Huawei has confirmed the official schedule for the release of Android Nougat and EMUI 5.0 update to Honor 8. The Honor 8 will get the Huawei’s newest EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat in February of 2017. The Nougat Beta test has already been ongoing for beta testers of the Honor 8. The handset was launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and EMUI 4.1 on top. The honor 8 Android Nougat update will hit the device sometime in Feb 2017.
Along with all the Android Nougat features, EMUI 5.0 offers up its own set of changes. EMUI 5.0 have a more intelligent power management system with a bunch of new power save modes. It brings new optimizations and a Machine learning algorithm that analyze user’s behavior over time and prioritizing frequently used apps. EMUI 5.0 also has the ability to run different profiles in parallel and comes with improved capabilities and flexibility around security.
Huawei has only mentioned ‘February 2017’ as the month for the release of Android Nougat and EMUI 5.0 on the Honor 8. It’s unclear whether the update will arrive at the beginning or end of February.
