iPhone 7 and 7 Plus to feature IPX7 waterproofing, new 2.4 GHz A10 chip, five color options with dark black and piano black

Apple is all set to announce the this year’s iPhone at September 7 event in San Francisco. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are mere days away from the official appearance and till date we have several leaks and rumors to reveal the new features. And now it seems the things are settling down and we have some last minute updates on iPhone 7 details.

Now a report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a very solid track record when it comes to Apple product rumors, has revealed some last minute details about the upcoming new features in the Apple’s next iPhone. The important stuff goes as follows:

Both the iPhone model will pack Apple’s latest A10 chipset built by TSMC with it’s CPU clocked at up to 2.4GHz. This is a major boost from the previous Apple A9 chipset seen in the iPhone 6s with maximum clock speed hitting 2.4 GHz. The iPhone 7 will feature 2 GB RAM – the same as the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 7 plus will keep 3GB of RAM to support the dual-lens camera processing.

Apple iPhone 7 Plus will come with dual 12MP camera sensors setup. The one shooter will be a 6-element wide-angle lens with larger pixel sizes and OIS. The other one will be a 5-element telephoto lens with smaller pixel sizes.  The iPhone 7 will feature just one 12MP camera sensor.

This year’s iPhone will come in five different color options. Apple will be introducing two new colors – dark black and piano black (glossy) including the usual silver, gold, and rose gold color options.

As we have already reported that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are over-passing the Apple’s previous storage options including the 16GB and 64GB models. Report claims that the upcoming iPhones will be available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants. A leaked packaging sheet showcased that the 256GB iPhone model is on the card. The 3.5mm headphone jack will be gone and Apple will be providing Lightning EarPods and Lightning-to-3.5mm adapter in the box. Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will come with IPX7 certification that means means both the devices are water and dust resistant and should underwater upto 1 meter depth for 30 minutes. The home button will be click-less pressure sensitive and the displays on the upcoming devices will be able to render wide-color imagery for better color quality.

These are all the last minute analysis of the most awaiting smartphone of the year and all the things will be official Apple big event on September 7.
