Micromax Dual 5 With 13-Megapixel Dual Rear Cameras, 4GB RAM Launched at Rs. 24,999

Micromax has launched its first dual rear camera smartphone dubbed as Micromax Dual 5. The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based Micromax Dual 5 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Super AMOLED 2.5D curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a 100 percent NTSC color gamut.

It has a metal unibody Arc design and measures 4.74mm at its thinnest point. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. It uses Adreno 510 GPU for graphics performance. It has Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano/micro) slot.

The main highlight of this smartphone is its dual rear camera setup. The Micromax Dual 5 has two 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensors, one for monochrome light and the other for RGB (color), featuring an f/1.8 aperture. A color temperature sensor is used to optimally merges the two captured images. One of the camera sensors is tasked with focus and the other is tasked with capturing the depth of field information. The dual camera mode is enabled by default on the smartphone and enables other modes like Bokeh Mode and Low-Light Mode. Other camera modes on the smartphone include Pano, Pro, Slow Shutter, Anti-Haze, Macro, and Monochrome. It also captures video in 4K UHD resolution, while the company is touting 3D video functionality thanks to the dual rear cameras. The front 13MP camera comes with features such as soft selfie flash, f/2.0 aperture, gesture control and GIF maker.

The Micromax Dual 5 backed up by 3200mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support that promises 0 to 95% charge in just 45 minutes, has intelligent power saving mode. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz),Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type C.

The Micromax Dual 5 comes with the price tag of Rs. 24,999. This smartphone will be available from April 10th through Flipkart, Micromax Store and offline stores across India. It has Micromax Care App that promises 24-hour service and has one-year replacement warranty. Micromax is planning to launch smaller Dual 4 in the Dual series soon.
