Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will get Android 7.1.1 Nougat update directly

Samsung is currently running Galaxy Beta Program for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge owners to test Android 7.0 Nougat on their devices. In all his time, Google has already moved from Android 7.0 to Android 7.1 to Android 7.1.1. which includes several new features and improvements. Google’ own Pixel phones launched with improved Nougat version, v7.1. Now the reports are coming that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge to skip Android 7.0, will get Android 7.1.1 Nougat update directly. Samsung has confirmed that the official public release of Nougat update will start with Android 7.1.1.

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update comes with improved touch performance and Daydream VR support. It also brings  the ability to send GIFs directly from the keyboard on supported apps such as Google Allo, Google Messenger, and Hangouts. The new 7.1.1 update also brings app shortcuts that can be launched directly from home screen. The apps like Twitter, Google Messenger, Google Maps can be accessed by simply long pressing the app icon.

The official stable release of Android Nougat update to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge is expected to roll out early next month. Samsung has not yet confirmed the exact time schedule for the Nougat release to these devices.
