If we recall, Samsung was planning to launch an even better version of Galaxy Note 7. Today, company has confirmed to launch new variant of the Galaxy Note 7. It will be launched in China during an official event on August 26. Samsung’s fancy new phablet is powered by 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
Earlier, Samsung Mobile’s chief Koh Dong-jin confirmed at launch event of Galaxy Note 7-
“It is true that we are reviewing the rollout of a new [Note 7] with 128 gigabyte built-in memory in China because Chinese companies are aggressively doing marketing with high-capacity memory.”
“We will accept diverse opinions from various regions and also consider whether that move will disappoint Korean consumers,”
New variant of this smartphone will be lauched exclusively in China. So if you are not in China, you have to stick with the already announced 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage version of the Galaxy Note 7.
The head of Samsung Mobile, DJ Koh explained the reason to launch this new variant exclusively in China- Chinese companies are launching their smartphones with high-capacity memory.Therefore Samsung doesn’t want to be at second position in mobile market.
As you know that newly launched OnePlus 3 offers 64GB of storage but comes with 6GB of RAM, while at the other end new ZTE Axon 7 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Both smartphones giving a tough competition to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7.
Reportedly, Samsung is sending out media invitations for an event in Beijing on August 26 at 5 p.m. local time but it is still not clear if the company plans to release the new Galaxy Note 7 variant at the same time, open up pre-orders or if this is strictly an unveiling. As per earlier reports, new variant of Galaxy Note 7 won’t officially launch in China until early next month on September 2.
Expected Price of Galaxy Note 7 (6GB RAM &128GB storage):
Samsung has not disclosed any official information about cost of this new variant but as per few reports- the new variant of Galaxy Note 7 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage could cost 6088 yuan (roughly $912) while the standard model (64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM) costs just 5688 yuan ($853) in China.
