How to stop Facebook from sending you friend suggestions- Step by Step

If we talk about Facebook, its a biggest platform of Social Media in the world. People can interact with friends and family in very easy way. To get in touch with old friends, Facebook always suggest to make them friend by sending friend request on the basis of their own algorithms like mutual friends, similar college names etc.. That looks under the option named as ‘Suggested Friends’.

But off lately, Facebook has stated to suggest random people, this is because of two big reasons –

  1. We use Facebook on our smartphones and most of the social media network tracks your location details.
  2. When two users are at the same place and same time and checked in the place or scrolling new feeds.

In terms of maintaining the privacy, its not a big deal to disable this functionality. Just follow the below steps and prevent Facebook to access your smartphone locations-

For Android (Marshmallow) users –

  • Go to ‘Settings’.
  • Click on ‘Apps’.
  • Select ‘Facebook’
  • Go to ‘Permissions’.
  • Click on ‘Location’ and turn off it.

Note: If you are using an older version of Android, the only solution is to access Facebook from the Chrome browser and not the official app.

For iOS users –

This is also very easy to turn off the location for Facebook in iOS devices. you need to follow below steps-

  1. Go to ‘Settings’.
  2. Click on ‘Privacy’.
  3. Click on ‘Location Services’.
  4. Select ‘Facebook’.
  5. From the options presented, select Never.

Now we all good, by following above steps you can stop unknown friend requests.
