Owners of Xperia XZ and X Compact in the USA can enable fingerprint sensor

As you already know that the USA variants of Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact smartphones officially lack the fingerprint sensor functionality. But a thread from the XDA confirms that the absence of this feature from the USA devices is just a software limitation. That means the USA owners of these handsets can turn it on by using a simple method.

According to XDA,”after flashing the customized UK firmware from Xperifirm on the US Xperia X compact phone, the fingerprint scanner works perfectly.” That means to activate the fingerprint scanner on US based Xperia XZ and X Compact, all you have to do is to flash your handset to a different region software. You can check the below screenshots, 1st one is the US Xperia XZ with firmware customization number 1304-9026 and the 2nd one is the same US handset after the unit was flashed with UK firmware with firmware customization number 1305-2216.
